Showcasing Range of Award-Winning Network Optimisation Solutions at ANGA COM

Enables network operators and content distributors to ensure optimum quality of service and consumer satisfaction

OSLO, Norway – May 15, 2019

At ANGA COM 2019 (4-6 June, Cologne) Bridge Technologies  (Hall 7, Booth 9) will showcase its growing range of award-winning network optimisation solutions for the telecommunications and media industries as they make the transition to an all-IP infrastructure. The company’s advanced hardware and software tools enable IP networks to be monitored and analysed, providing information in real time that enables broadcasters and content distributors to ensure optimum quality of service and consumer satisfaction.

Specifically, Bridge Technologies is highlighting the VB330 probe with its unique support for Remote PHY/L2TP .

“The VB330 provides high-traffic monitoring in core broadband and media networks,” said Simen K Frostad, Chairman, Bridge Technologies. “Providing support for Remote PHY/L2TP, it offers telcos, cable and network operators and digital media organizations a monitoring solution scalable for any level of traffic, delivering monitoring and analytics of thousands of streams and a multitude of technologies in real-time and in parallel. Measurement analytics are available via easy drill-down functionality, with MediaWindow providing easy-to-assess graphical visualisations of the data.”

The VB330 can be deployed either on dedicated embedded hardware, as a pre-configured and pre-installed appliance server or as a software-only solution – giving operators great flexibility in tailoring the monitoring solution for the underlying system architecture. Utilizing the same visual and intuitive approach to monitoring and analytics as other Bridge Technologies probes, the VB330 is aimed at monitoring the full cross section of services commonly found in media-related network operations, and can handle signal formats and areas as diverse as video IP multicast, video OTT/ABR streaming, voice trunks, video-on-demand unicast, Ethernet packet micro bursts, PCAP recording and general traffic protocol inspection.

Also being demonstrated at ANGA COM is the VB440 IP probe with its Instrument View GUI. Both are essential tools for the increasingly distributed nature of broadcasting, providing insight easily and instantaneously from any location, giving complete flexibility in, for example, remote production scenarios.

The VB440 supports uncompressed media flows over IP with both ST2110 and ST2022-6 transports, providing network operators and digital media organisations with an analytics solution for numerous streams and multiple technologies in real-time and in parallel. With support for interface speeds up to, uniquely, 100 Gigabit on dual interfaces, even the largest of media networks can be accommodated. ST2022-7 redundancy is also monitored and analysed with ports connected to both primary and secondary networks.

“Instrument View enables users to obtain the maximum possible value from the VB440,” continued Frostad. “A unique tool that provides an innovative way of viewing the behaviour of uncompressed real time media. While other solutions are aimed at those who are technically highly proficient, Instrument View brings deep, intuitive understanding to non-experts.”

ANGA COM also sees Bridge Technologies showcasing NOMAD, an extremely compact and highly affordable probe designed for ultimate portability, robust ruggedness, very high performance and intuitive ease of use. NOMAD provides a full suite of testing, measurement and analysis tools that help users improve and optimise IP network reliability and functionality to ensure optimum Quality of Experience (QoE) – wherever they need to be.

“NOMAD is a breakthrough design, delivering a high level of sophisticated IP network troubleshooting capability that would previously have cost around twice as much,” said Frostad. “It features every conceivable interface for media signal monitoring and analysis, yet sets new standards in terms of ease of use, meaning that the user does not require deep knowledge of the media technology used.”
